Gulfood 2027 in Dubai, 15-19 March: A Checklist for Restaurants, Cafes and Food Brands
If you run a restaurant, cafe, catering firm or food brand in the UAE, Gulfood 2027 is the date to plan around. The show runs 15 to 19 March 2027, and a week like that brings tasters, buyers and visitors who will look you up on their phones. This is a practical checklist for getting ready, without spending on anything you do not need.
What Gulfood 2027 is, according to the organiser
The official Gulfood website lists the 2027 edition for 15 to 19 March 2027, with show hours of 10:00 to 18:00 from 15 to 18 March and 10:00 to 17:00 on 19 March. It names the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai Exhibition Centre as the venues, and a Portuguese trade-promotion article (AICEP, September 2026) confirms the same dates and says the Dubai Exhibition Centre is in Expo City Dubai. The organiser quotes more than 8,500 exhibitors from 195 countries across 12 sectors. The website does not publish an expected visitor count, so we do not quote one. Check the official site closer to the date, because venues and hall plans can change.
Why a food business outside the show should care
You do not need a stand to be affected. Exhibitors, buyers and visitors flying in for the week need somewhere to eat, meet and host clients. A restaurant or cafe in Dubai that is easy to find and easy to trust on Google Maps is more likely to be chosen by a stranger. Reviews are one of the few things you can build quickly before March, because they come from real guests in the weeks before.
A five-step checklist for the weeks before 15 March
- Check your Google Business Profile. Opening hours, phone number, photos and menu link should be current. If your hours change for the show week, set them in advance.
- Start collecting reviews now. Ask every table, not just the happy ones, and follow Google's policy: no gifts or discounts in exchange for a review.
- Make the review step one tap. A card or stand at the till or table that opens your Google review page saves guests from searching for your name.
- Put your menu behind a link you can edit. Show-week specials, a business-lunch set or a late-night offer are quick to change on a digital menu and expensive to reprint.
- Prepare a visible QR fallback. Visitors from abroad may not know what NFC is, so a printed QR code beside the tap area helps everyone.
If you are an exhibitor or a food brand
A stand gives you several hundred conversations and very few ways to remember each one. Decide before the show what you want from every contact: a WhatsApp chat, an Instagram follow, or a saved business card. One clear action works better than three. Write the contact down or capture it the same day, and follow up within a week while the visit is fresh. A tap or scan at the stand is useful only if someone replies afterwards.
Where Smaacaad fits, and where it does not
For dining venues, two products map to the checklist. The Google Review NFC Stand with QR opens your Google review page when a guest taps it or scans the code. The Digital Menu Card lets you keep a menu behind a link and update it without reprinting. Neither will bring a single visitor to your door, and neither replaces a good meal. They remove friction at the moment a happy guest is ready to say so, and keep your menu accurate while the city is busy.
Bottom line
Gulfood 2027 is a Dubai-wide traffic event, not only a hall full of exhibitors. Use the time between now and mid-March to tidy your Google listing, build a steady flow of honest reviews and make your menu easy to update. If you would like help choosing, message the Smaacaad team on WhatsApp.
