Google Review Card in Abu Dhabi: How a Salon, Clinic or Café Gets More Reviews With One Tap
Searches for a Google review card in Abu Dhabi have grown steadily this year, and most of the people typing it are not in Dubai Marina. They run a salon in Khalidiya, a dental clinic in Al Reem, a café in Al Zahiyah or a car showroom in Mussafah. This guide is for them: what a review card is, where it works in an Abu Dhabi business, when to ask, and what Google actually permits.
Why Abu Dhabi businesses are asking now
Abu Dhabi's food and beverage sector alone had 24,594 active memberships in the Abu Dhabi Chamber by the end of September 2025, and the Chamber says SMEs make up 98% of those companies. Thousands of near-identical listings compete for the same Google Maps results, and the first thing a customer sees under each name is the star rating and the number of reviews. A business with 40 recent reviews looks alive. A business with 6 reviews from 2023 looks closed.
What a Google review card does
A review card is a small NFC card or stand with a QR code. The customer taps it with their phone, or scans the code, and lands directly on your Google review form. There is no app, no typing your business name into Maps, and no scrolling past competitors. That removes the two moments where most customers give up: finding the right listing and finding the review button.
Where to put it, by business type
- Salons and barbershops: at the payment counter, handed over with the receipt. The customer has just seen the result in the mirror, which is the best moment to ask.
- Clinics and dental practices: at reception, after the appointment, never in the treatment room. Keep the request neutral and let the patient decide what to write; health businesses in the UAE must take extra care with patient privacy.
- Cafés and restaurants: a stand on the counter for takeaway, a card with the bill for seated guests. Breakfast and brunch venues on the Corniche get far more weekend traffic than weekdays, so ask on the busy days.
- Showrooms and service centres: at vehicle handover or when the service adviser returns the key. Asking at booking, before the work is done, produces fewer and worse reviews.
- Pharmacies, typing centres and small retail: a counter stand works better than a card, because the transaction is quick and the customer's hands are full.
When to ask, and how
Ask once, in person, at the end of a good interaction. A single sentence is enough: "If you have a minute, you can tap this to leave us a Google review." Train every staff member to say it the same way. Do not chase customers on WhatsApp afterwards with reminders, and do not ask only the people who looked happy. Google's review policy prohibits selectively soliciting reviews from satisfied customers and prohibits offering anything in exchange for a review. A card at the counter, offered to everyone, is the compliant version of asking.
Reply in both languages
Abu Dhabi has a higher share of Emirati and Arabic-speaking customers than Dubai, and reviews arrive in both languages. Reply to Arabic reviews in Arabic and English reviews in English, within a few days. Thank the person, mention one specific thing from their review, and keep it short. For a negative review, apologise once, move the conversation to a phone number or email, and never argue in public. A profile where the owner replies looks managed, and that matters as much as the stars.
Card, stand or sticker?
For a single counter, a stand is the most visible option and nobody has to hand anything over. For staff who move around, such as a mobile beautician or a service adviser on the forecourt, a card in the pocket works better. A plate sticker suits a reception desk where nothing loose should sit. Many Abu Dhabi businesses start with the Google Review NFC Stand with QR on the counter and add a Google Review NFC Card with QR for each staff member once they see the first reviews arrive. Smaacaad ships to Abu Dhabi with Express Shipping; prices are shared on request via WhatsApp because we supply through resellers as well as directly.
A simple 30-day target
Do not aim for a one-week surge. Aim for 8 to 10 new reviews a month, every month. That pace looks natural to Google, keeps your "most recent" reviews fresh, and is achievable for any Abu Dhabi business that serves 20 customers a day.
