Google Review Cards for GCC Businesses: What Is Different in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain
Our Search Console shows a steady stream of searches for "business review cards in GCC" and "in-store review cards GCC", and the people behind them are not in Dubai. They run a coffee shop in Riyadh, a clinic in Doha, a car wash in Muscat, a restaurant in Salmiya or a salon in Manama. A Google review card does exactly the same job in all of those places as it does in the UAE: a customer taps or scans and lands on your Google review form. What changes is the detail around it, and that is what this guide covers.
The card is the same; the link is yours
A review card is programmed with your Google review link, the one Google generates for your Business Profile under "Get more reviews". That link works for any verified profile in any country. There is no UAE-specific or Saudi-specific card. Before you order from anywhere, confirm two things: that your Business Profile is verified, and that you can open the review form yourself by pasting the link into a phone browser while signed out of your own account. If the form does not open, no card will fix it.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi has the largest number of Google Maps users in the Gulf and the strongest Arabic-first search behaviour. Write the card text in Arabic first, English second. Reply to reviews in Arabic unless the reviewer wrote in English. Many Saudi retailers also run a Maroof registration for e-commerce; that is separate from Google and does not replace Maps reviews for a physical shop. Cafés, barbershops, dental clinics and car care centres see the fastest results, because the visit ends at a counter where the card can be handed over.
Qatar
Doha's market is small and dense, so a listing with 30 recent reviews stands out quickly in categories like restaurants in The Pearl, Lusail and West Bay. Customer mix is heavily expatriate; English and Arabic on the card both matter, and so does replying within a day. Hotel and serviced-apartment operators should pair the Google card with the platform the guest booked through.
Oman
Muscat businesses tend to have older, thinner Google profiles with few reviews, which means the first 20 reviews move a listing further than they would in Dubai. Service businesses that visit the customer, such as AC maintenance, pest control and car recovery, do best with a card the technician carries rather than a counter stand.
Kuwait and Bahrain
Both markets are review-aware and Instagram-heavy. A Google card at the till and an Instagram follow card next to it is a common pairing, because the customer who will not write a review will often press follow. Bahrain's bilingual mix leans more English than Kuwait's; adjust the card copy accordingly.
The rules do not change at the border
Google's review policy applies everywhere: do not offer discounts or gifts for a review, do not ask only happy customers, do not have staff write reviews, and do not buy them. A card offered to every customer at the end of the visit is the compliant method in Riyadh exactly as it is in Dubai. Fake-review enforcement is tightening across the region, and a profile that loses its reviews in a sweep is worse off than one that never asked.
Rolling out across branches
- One review link per branch. A chain with six locations needs six links and six sets of cards, or the reviews land on the wrong listing.
- Label each card or stand with the branch name on the back so a transfer between stores does not move the link with it.
- Train one sentence per language and have every cashier use it.
- Check each branch's new-review count monthly. A branch at zero usually has the stand in a drawer.
Ordering from the UAE
Smaacaad supplies review cards and stands from the UAE to businesses and resellers across the GCC, programmed with each branch's own link before dispatch. Start with the Google Review NFC Card with QR for staff and the Google Review NFC Stand with QR for counters; both include a QR code so they work on every phone. Pricing and delivery options for each country are confirmed on request via WhatsApp. For the UAE itself, our Google review card UAE guide covers placement and timing in more depth.
