Google Business Profile Now Connects to Gemini: What a Dubai Business Should Get Ready
On 10 June 2026 Google announced new Gemini tools for businesses, including a way to connect your Google Business Profile Gemini link with a single tap. If you run a restaurant, clinic, salon or shop in Dubai, here is what Google actually said, what it left out, and what you can do now.
What Google announced about Google Business Profile and Gemini
According to Google's own blog post (10 June 2026), owners will be able to “securely connect your Google Business Profile to Gemini with a single tap.” Once linked, Gemini can use your reviews, customer questions and performance data. Google lists these uses:
- Review replies: you can ask Gemini to help with a new review, and it can draft a response in your brand's voice that refers to the customer's specific feedback.
- Performance questions: for example “how did my business do this month?”, drawing on search impressions, direction requests and calls.
- Profile updates: changing operating hours, posting seasonal updates or finding gaps in the profile.
- Alerts: flags such as unanswered customer questions or holiday hours that are not set yet.
What is not clear for the UAE
Google's post says the connection was rolling out globally, with the EEA and UK excluded. It did not give a UAE date, and we have not confirmed that the feature is live for Dubai accounts. Check your own Gemini settings before planning around it.
Why reviews matter more if an assistant reads them
This is our reasoning, not a Google statement: if Gemini drafts replies and summarises performance from your profile, it can only work with what is there. A profile with a handful of old reviews gives it little to go on. A steady stream of recent, specific reviews gives you real feedback to reply to and real patterns to spot.
A practical checklist for Dubai owners:
- Reply to reviews yourself first, and treat any AI draft as a starting point you edit. Customers can tell a generic reply.
- Set holiday hours early, so a customer never turns up at a closed door. Google's example alert is exactly this, and National Day and Eid are coming up.
- Ask every customer for a review, every day, rather than in one push.
Making the review ask easy
An NFC card or stand does one thing: the customer taps or scans and lands on your Google review page. It does not write the review for them and it does not guarantee a rating. For a card in staff hands, the Google Review NFC Card with QR is AED 29 per piece. For a counter or table, the Google Review NFC Stand with QR is AED 59 per piece. Both prices were checked against our live product data when this post was published.
The bottom line
Gemini inside Business Profile is an announced tool, not yet a confirmed UAE feature. The safe preparation is the unglamorous one: fresh reviews, accurate hours and prompt, human replies.
