Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 Added 19 Restaurants: What Every Other Dubai Restaurant Should Fix on Google
On 6 October 2026 the MICHELIN Guide unveiled the fifth edition of its Dubai selection at Atlantis The Royal. According to Gulf News, the guide now covers 122 restaurants across 38 cuisine types, with 20 starred restaurants, 22 Bib Gourmand listings and 19 new additions. Birch and KIGO earned their first stars, and Orfali Bros moved up to two stars. If your restaurant is not on that list, the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 still matters to you, because it sends diners onto their phones to compare places.
What a guide announcement changes for every other restaurant
We can't measure search traffic from here, so treat this as practical reasoning, not a statistic. After a guide list goes public, people talk about where to eat, search for restaurants in their area and check what they find. A diner choosing between your place and the one next door usually opens Google Maps first. That is where your reviews, photos and menu either help or let you down.
The 19 new additions are also a reminder that the list changes every year. Restaurants with no stars still get discovered through Google, Instagram and word of mouth, and those channels are in your hands.
Three things to check this week
- Your Google rating and recent reviews. Read your last ten reviews as a stranger would. Are they recent? Do they mention dishes and service? A profile with a few old reviews looks quiet, however good the food is.
- Your menu link. Open your Google profile on a phone. Does the menu link work, load quickly and show current dishes and prices? A PDF that needs pinching and zooming loses people.
- Your opening hours and photos. Wrong hours are a common reason for a bad first impression. Add photos of real dishes, not just the interior.
Make asking for a review part of the table routine
Most happy diners never leave a review unless it is made easy. The simplest habit is a fixed spot where the review link is always one tap away: at the till, on the table, or handed over with the bill. Ask politely and don't offer a discount or freebie in return, because Google's policy does not allow reviews tied to incentives.
A Google Review NFC Stand with QR (AED 59 per piece) opens your Google review page when a guest taps it with an NFC phone or scans the QR code. It suits a busy counter because staff don't need to recite a link. The point is consistency: a few reviews every week keep your profile looking active, which a one-off push cannot do.
Keep one menu that is always current
Dishes sell out, prices change and seasonal items rotate. A printed menu is out of date the day you change anything, and a PDF someone has to re-export is easy to forget. The Digital Menu Card (AED 29 per piece) puts your logo on one side and a menu QR on the other. Guests tap or scan to open a live menu on dm-only.com, and you update it from your phone, so the card in the guest's hand never goes stale. Express UAE shipping is available for orders.
What not to copy from the Michelin world
You don't need a star to benefit from the same discipline. The guide's selection is made by the guide's inspectors, so you can't influence it by asking guests for something. What you can control is whether the guests you do have can find you, read your menu and leave a review quickly.
A simple checklist
- Confirm hours, phone number and menu link on Google.
- Put a review prompt where every guest sees it.
- Make sure the menu on guests' phones matches what the kitchen serves today.
- Reply to every new review within a few days, good or bad.
Whether or not your name was read out at the ceremony, a Dubai diner will check your Google profile before they book. Make that check easy to pass.
