White Friday 2026 in the UAE (27 November): A Checklist to Turn Sale-Week Footfall Into Reviews and Followers
White Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Neither Amazon.ae nor noon has confirmed its 2026 sale window at the time of writing, but both ran from 20 to 30 November last year, and seller guides point to a similar ten-day stretch this year. For a physical shop in the UAE, that stretch is the busiest footfall of the autumn, arriving just before Dubai Shopping Festival opens in December. The discounts bring people in. The question is what you keep when the prices go back up.
What a sale week leaves behind
Online, the marketplaces keep the customer: the account, the review, the retargeting. In a shop, the customer walks out with a bag and you keep nothing unless you ask. Two things are worth asking for during sale week, because the volume makes them cheap: a Google review and an Instagram follow. Both are one tap at the counter, both stay with you in January, and both are the reason a shopper picks your store over the one next door when there is no discount to compare.
The checklist, in order
- Two weeks before: clean your Google Business Profile. Google's October 2026 policy update bans time-bound promotions, pricing and calls-to-action in the listing itself, so move the sale announcement into an Offer post with a start and end date, not into your description.
- Ten days before: put a review stand on every till and a follow stand next to it. Staff should know which is which; shoppers in a queue decide in a second.
- One week before: write the one sentence every cashier says: "You can tap this to review us or follow us, whichever you like." Rehearse it in English and Arabic. Offer nothing in exchange; Google's policy and the UAE's own fake-review enforcement both forbid it.
- Sale week: ask every paying customer, at the moment of handing over the bag. Do not pick the happy ones; it breaks Google's rules and skews your profile.
- Every evening: reply to the day's reviews. During a sale week you may get more in a day than in a normal month, and a fast reply to a complaint about a queue is worth more than ten five-star replies.
- The week after: post the new follower count and review count on a whiteboard in the staff room. Then keep asking at the same pace into DSF.
Handle the complaints you will get
Sale weeks produce specific complaints: stock that ran out, a price that did not match the tag, a queue, a return refused. Reply to each one publicly in two lines, apologise once, and move the detail to WhatsApp or the phone. Do not reply with the terms and conditions. Future shoppers read the reply, not the complaint.
Why Instagram and Google together
A shopper who buys a discounted item is unlikely to write a review about a bargain, but will often follow an account to catch the next one. A shopper who got help choosing a size will review that help. Give them both options and let them choose; a till with only a review stand loses the followers, and a till with only a follow stand loses the reviews.
Kit for a single till
One Google Review NFC Stand with QR and one Instagram NFC Follow Stand with QR, or an all-in-one combo for a shop that wants a single stand and two staff cards. Order by mid-November so they arrive with Express Shipping before the sale starts; pricing is on request. The same stands then carry straight through Dubai Shopping Festival and into the new year.
